Vote Ron Paul For President!!!

Well I have come to the conclusion that our government has dug ourselves in such a deep hole that we have to get a president in office that will stop the digging, or we will have a very bleak future. Our government has managed to get our national debt to $9 Trillion Dollars , and they will owe another $41 Trillion to pay Americans in "entitlement benefits" down the road (you know, things like social security, Medicare, etc.) bringing our real national debt figures to roughly $50 trillion dollars. In the year 2006 the government spent over $406 Billion Dollars alone in paying interest on our debts. Our country spends over $553 Billion dollars a year on military expenditures, where the next highest runner up in the world is the U.K, spending only $65 Billion. Why do we need to spend so much money on military expenditures???? We borrow 2.5 billion dollars a day to feed the current budget. If the notes payable came due for that money today, that would mean each person would have to come up with $175,000 to pay the debt. The truth is America can’t afford to continue on the path we are on without bankrupting our country. Currently our government just simply "prints more money" to take care of the shortfall. Doing that will only continue to devalue our dollar and raise inflation. That is why I fully support presidential candidate Ron Paul. He is hands down the Best Candidate! Go to his website here and check out his views on all the issues, get involved, and get this guy into office!!

Halloween Pictures...

Gavin was a monkey for Halloween this year. I decided to buy the monkey costume since that is what we call him all of the time! "You little monkey" can often be heard at our house. I'm not sure if we call him that because he likes to climb on things or because he loves bananas so much. Maybe all of the above. He sure was a cute little monkey though! During the day Gavin and I went out to Tremonton to spend some time with my family and let them see him in his costume. There is a business there called "Picture Perfect" and every year on Halloween they set up a cute backdrop and take pictures of the trick-or-treaters in their costumes. So I took Gavin in and got his taken. Then that night we went to Brian & Jaimee's house for some food and fun! Every year Jaimee has a tradition of making chili in a pumpkin. So we all ate a yummy dinner and then went trick-or-treating.
It brought back so many fun memories of when I was younger. I was asking Brent what some of his costumes were growing up and he couldn't remember any. I remember being Raggedy Ann one year and then I was a Punk Rocker a bunch of times! I also remember one year when my uncle Jason (who is an artist) painted my face like a skeleton! It was awesome! Anyway, I love Halloween for the fact that it gives us an excuse to get together and have some fun. I also love how people get so excited and go all out for the holidays!

Just some cute pictures of Gavin!

Date Night!

A few weekends ago we set up two friends of mine on blind dates! It was really fun! We went bowling and took this picture afterward.
Brent and I are there on the left and per Deb's request, this picture was taken after I cut my hair so you can see what it looks like now!

TAG I'M IT! AND NOW 6 OF YOU ARE TOO!

Natalie tagged me!

The Rules: Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post the player tags six people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Have fun!

1. I’m not too good at stuff like this because I have a hard time coming up with things to write about! Especially things that I don’t mind if other people know, but here goes! (Does that count as one?)

2. I will have to copy Natalie a little on this one! (See, I told you I have a hard time with this!) I have a lot of annoying habits, like biting my nails (Brent’s favorite, ha ha!) But one of the worst is this twitching thing I do with my fingers (and sometimes my toes!). Sometimes I do it to what people say (like when watching a movie) or to the music. Weird, I know!

3. I love old movies! My mom is a huge fan of Doris Day, so she got me started! My mom, my sister & I used to love to watch them together when I was growing up. Some of my favorites are: Meet Me in St. Louis, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Pollyanna, Summer Magic, The Thrill of it All, & White Christmas, just to name a few!

4. I just cut my hair off! Random, but that’s what this is all about, right?! I cut six inches off and it was liberating! Why is it that as women our hair is sometimes made out to be such a big deal? I decided I didn’t want long hair just to have long hair anymore. I haven’t had short hair since I was in high school, so it has been fun to have a change! I also wanted to cut it so that it wouldn’t take me so long to get ready in the mornings. But I’m discovering that when your hair is thick, even if you cut 6 inches off, it is still going to take a while to do it! Oh well, live and learn!

5. I HATE scary movies. They freak me out. I used to think they were kind of fun back in high school when we’d get together and watch them with a big group of friends. But then when Brent and I were first married our apartment got broke into and now I’m paranoid, so they aren’t so fun anymore!

6. I used to think that I was a city girl. Now, after taking our trip back east, I know it’s the country life for me! My friend Lindsay and I would always wonder what our lives would be like when we were grown up and married. She always wanted to live in the country and I wanted to end up in the city. Funny how things really turn out! She lives in Atlanta, Georgia now and here I am in Millville, Utah! As you drive in to Millville there’s a sign that says “Country living at it’s finest!”

Wow, I’m surprised I could come up with so much to write about! That was impressive, if I may say so! So now I tag: Deb, Erin, Heather, wait! I don’t have very many blogger friends! I will tag those three and call it good I guess!

ROAD TRIP!

Let's see...where do I begin? I have wanted an SUV for a long time and I wasn't quiet about it! (poor Brent!) I mostly wanted one for the space and so that I don't have to duck down so far every time to get the car seat in and out (high maintenance, I know!) So Brent researched the best one for us (an Acura MDX) and found it on e-bay. He bid on it and he won! Wahoo! But it was a little bit far away. It was in Rhode Island!
So we decided to pack up, fly out to get it and make a fun road trip out of it. Brian & Jaimee (Brent's brother and his wife) came with us for the first part of our adventure! From Salt Lake we had a layover in Cincinnati, OH and then we landed in Providence, RI. We picked up the car there and drove an hour north to Boston, Massachusetts. Brent's cousin Tiffany and her family live there so we went to stay with them. While in Boston we went on a duck boat tour and it was neat to see places like the cemetery where Paul Revere and Samuel Adams are buried, The Cheers Bar, the Boston State House & Boston Commons, etc.
